Sri Lanka Navy arrests 8 local fishermen
The Sri Lanka Navy has arrested 8 local fishermen for engaging in illegal fishing activities in the seas off Trincomalee.
Naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command apprehended 8 local fishermen engaged for engaging in illegal fishing, using unauthorized fishing nets in the sea area off Norway Island.
Their fishing boat and dingy were also seized. The arrested were handed over to the Trincomalee Assistant Fisheries Director for further action
