Night mail train accident in hatton
The night mail train traveling from Colombo to Badulla derailed near Kotagala 110th milepost this morning.
The incident ocurred at around 2am, when the train veered off the tracks close to 55 ft bridge near Kotagala 110th milepost.
Two night mail trains scheduled to set off tonight have been cancelled.
The Railway Control-room said the 5:50pm train due to set off from Colombo, Fort to Badulla was cancelled while the 8pm Badulla – Colombo train was also cancelled.
The railway department said that four carriages, railway tracks and the bridge was damaged.
No one was injured in the incident
